  • What exactly is air duct cleaning?

Air duct cleaning refers to cleaning the inside of a ducts in a ventilation system inside of a home, office, commercial, or industrial building. There are several types and sizes of air ducts used to deliver heating and cooling year-round.

  • What are the health benefits of HVAC system cleaning?

HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems can act as a collection source for a variety of contaminants which can negatively affect health, such as mold, bacteria, fungi, and very small particles of dust. Removing these contaminants from the HVAC system should be considered a top priority in improving indoor air quality and overall health.

  • Why do I need to have my air ducts cleaned?

Over time, mold, dust, dirt, dander, and other contaminants gather in your ductwork and continue to circulate. Cleaning your system will lead to cleaner, healthier air inside your home or commercial building. Besides breathing cleaner air, cleaning can also lead to lowered energy costs and improved lifespans for your AC system and furnace. Finally, reducing dirt and dust will help keep your home or building cleaner.

  • How frequently do I need to have my HVAC system cleaned?

The U.S. Department of Energy recommends annual check-ups and cleaning for your blower motor and air conditioning coils. Dirti Ducts suggests cleaning your entire HVAC system air handler, evaporator coil, condenser coil, air ducts, and exhaust ducts once every three to five years depending on how many inhabitants there are in the home, including pets.

Homeowners would be wise to consider the following when deciding how frequently to have their ducts cleaned:

    1. Presence of smokers in the household

    2. Number of highly shedding pets in the household

    3. Whether the unit/system has suffered water contamination or damage

    4. Presence of residents with allergies or asthma

    5. Recent renovations or remodeling

    6. Recently moved in or purchased a new home.

  • How much does it cost to clean air ducts in a house?

Dirti Ducts has set rates for residential services based on square footage and the number of air conditioning systems. For commercial properties, we perform an on-site walk-through after which we submit a bid to clean your HVAC system.

  • How long does air duct cleaning take?

The amount of time it takes to clean a residential HVAC system depends on many variables, including the size of the home, the number of systems, the extent of the contamination, and the number of HVAC cleaners performing the job.
